We met the organizer, Abby Elzemeyer, of Memphis Fashion Week on Monday and today I wanted to introduce you all to the talented designers who will be converging on our city this weekend and give you a rundown of what to expect.
Throughout Memphis Fashion Weekend you’ll see a wonderful mix of leading designers which includes both local and national talent. The first-ever event is also enjoying lots of local support from stores including Joseph, Oak Hall, James Davis and Kittie Kyle. Macy’s is an event sponsor providing Bobbi Brown makeup and makeup artists for the models walking in the shows. Further proving that it is a true community affair, Pavo Salon Spa is doing the models’ hair, the Peabody is donating hotel rooms for the designers and Sache is designing and printing the event t-shirts that will be available at their store on S. Main and on site at the events.
Three designers will be showcasing their Spring 2012 collections each evening and here’s the line-up with a snapshot of the beautiful creations you can expect to see this Friday (Jack Robinson Gallery, 44 Huling) and Saturday (former A. Schwab space, 163 Beale St.) on the runway:
